Pre-School ballet and tap classes for children aged 2.5 years to reception age.

The children are independent from their parents.

Pre-schoolers have truly wonderful imaginations and a thirst for learning, in our classes we explore this even more allowing the children to be as inventive and imaginative as they wish,  all in a fun and exciting environment.

What are the benefits of dance for children?

With their boundless energy, children need to get physically active. Dance will improve their flexibility, strength and stamina. Improve muscle tone, help to correct poor posture and increase balance and co-ordination.

Are there any social benefits?

Our classes will help to improve your childs social and communication skills, develop a greater sense of trust and co-operation and make new friends. If your child is shy, enrolling them into dance can encourage them to reach out to other children their age and help to reduce their anxieties about new people or places. Dance can also help to alleviate fears related to performing in front of an audience.

Dance will improve their self esteem!

As children adjust to the movements and postures required in dance, they begin to get a better sense of their bodies. As they become more comfortable in their own skin, their confidence and self-esteem also improve. Dance lessons can encourage children to foster a more positive attitude and explore their own self-expression.

How does the class work?

We start with tap, warming up our bodies ready for an imaginative journey through the new theme that we change each week, using carefully chosen music and props. Learning new steps and mastering others. Working in partners, on our own and in groups, having a really jolly time!

After all that tapping we change into ballet shoes and start to understand the movements and energy required for ballet. Learning about our bodies, what they can do and how we can express ourselves through dance. With new found friends the children relax, loose all their inhibitions and finish the class with beaming smiles!
