Tiny Tap and Tutus
Ballet and Tap classes for babies and toddlers aged 18 months to 2.5 years old.
This is a lovely introduction to baby ballet and tap and allows parents & carers to share their childs first experience of a dance class by participating together.
What are the benefits of dance for children?
With their boundless energy, children need to get physically active. Dance will improve their flexibility, strength and stamina. Improve muscle tone, help to correct poor posture and increase balance and co-ordination.
Are there any social benefits?
Our classes will help to improve your childs social and communication skills, develop a greater sense of trust and co-operation and make new friends. If your child is shy, enrolling them into dance can encourage them to reach out to other children their age and help to reduce their anxieties about new people or places. Dance can also help to alleviate fears related to performing in front of an audience.
Dance will improve their self esteem!
As children adjust to the movements and postures required in dance, they begin to get a better sense of their bodies. As they become more comfortable in their own skin, their confidence and self-esteem also improve. Dance lessons can encourage children to foster a more positive attitude and explore their own self-expression.
How does the class work?
Parents & Carers stay with their child and participate as much as they can. This really puts the children at ease and is such a wonderful bonding opportunity for you both. Each week we have a new theme using carefully chosen music and props. We start with ballet and warming up our bodies, we then explore new music and moves around the room and after a quick break we finish the class with tap, dancing, jumping and stamping all that energy out. A perfect set up for lunch and then a nap!
