An expressive and creative class for children in Year 3 and above.

Lyrical and Contemporary dance combines elements of Ballet, Modern and Jazz, allowing dancers to explore fluid movement, musicality and storytelling.

Using a wide variety of current and inspiring music, dancers learn how to communicate emotion through movement while developing their own individual style and performance quality.

What happens in class?

Classes include technique, flexibility, floor work, travelling movements and expressive choreography. Dancers explore changes in dynamics, learn how to connect movements smoothly and discover new ways to interpret music.

This is a non-examination class, giving dancers the freedom to experiment, build confidence and enjoy learning regularly changing routines without the pressure of working towards a syllabus.

Uniform

Our uniform is compulsory with a classical bun for Ballet and a neat ponytail for all other classes. We expect our pupils to be beautifully presented.

There’s no need to buy uniform for your free trial – simply wear something comfortable to dance in.

Once enrolled, we will confirm the correct Lyrical and Contemporary uniform before you order. Our LBSD uniform can be purchased online.

Hair should be neat and securely away from the face. Long hair should be worn in a neat ponytail for every Lyrical and Contemporary class.
