ISTD Modern classes

For children from reception age and above

The ISTD is one of the worlds leading dance examination boards.

‘Modern Theatre dance is a rhythmic dance style which originated in American before travelling to the rest of the world. It is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities. This style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns which all need strength and flexibility’.

Once our pupils have reached the correct standard in their class they will be encouraged to take an examination to move up to the next grade, although this is not compulsory.

 

Uniform

Our uniform is compulsory with a classical bun for Ballet and a neat ponytail for all other classes. We expect our pupils to be beautifully presented.
